The CREDITVIEW ANIMAL HOSPITAL was opened in June of 1988 in central Mississauga by Dr. Kevin Saldanha. The location selected for the practice was in the DEER RUN SHOPPING CENTRE in central Mississauga. From designing the floor plan to selecting colour scheme, Dr. Saldanha kept the convenience of client services in mind. The narrow, long layout of the premises presented some unique challenges that were ingeniously overcome to make use of every inch of the 945 square foot unit. To achieve success, Dr. Saldanha went beyond the provision of regular veterinary care and basic ancillary services like grooming and boarding. Besides providing an after hours in-hospital and telephone consultation service to his clients, Dr. Saldanha offered his house call service on an emergency basis, utilizing a dedicated vehicle equipped with stretchers, oxygen and emergency supplies. This was the first of it's kind in the Toronto area and provided critical visibility to the practice. Added to this, the convenience of professional grooming, a pet sitting service and exotic medicine, the client base was established and grew over the first decade to a point where expansion of the physical facilities was inevitable. In March of 1999, the practice was moved up the road into a free standing building with a name change to CREDITVIEW ANIMAL & BIRD HOSPITAL incorporating into the new facility a wildcare facility for the treatment and rehabilitation of sick and injured small wild mammals and birds. The ASSISI ANIMAL & BIRD SANCTUARY is an ancillary service to the hospital and will encompass a bird sanctuary, rehabilitation centre with protected flight cages and aquatic facilities for waterfowl rehabilitation.
This service is funded by Dr. Saldanha who donates his time and supplies to the veterinary care of the sick and injured wildlife that finds its way to his doors.Nursing care is provided by the technicians and assistants of the hospital.
The hospital is open for 6 days of the week for routine services and emergency services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by prior arrangement. A contact number is always available on the answering machine after hours.
From Monday to Friday, the doors are open and staff available from 8:00am to 7:00pm and on Saturday from 9:00am to 2:00pm. During that time, prescheduled out-patient appointments may be arranged from 9:00am to noon and from 4:30pm to 7:00pm, except for Wednesday and Saturday, when the evening appointments are not available.
Here at the CREDITVIEW ANIMAL & BIRD HOSPITAL we take care of all your pets' needs, from annual health check-ups and vaccines to elective surgery and orthopedic procedures. The same consideration is accorded to every pet and owner. Visiting the hospital may be unpleasant if it is always associated with a painful procedure so we invite you to bring your pets along for the ride when you visit us and our friends. You may check out our reception area from the waiting room, and some of our friends like Coco & Rambo, the finches, and a cheerful cockateil that have taken up residence in our waiting area!

The emergency services offered to clients of the CREDITVIEW ANIMAL & BIRD
HOSPITAL are an intrinsic part of the overall health coverage provided
to our patients.
New clients are welcome here at the Creditview Animal Hospital. This is not to say that we do not value our existing clientele and their pets but on the contrary, they are usually the source of referrals and consequently, additions to our "family".
To give our new clients a chance to identify with us, we spend 30-45 minutes on the initial visit to make sure all questions are answered and that we are starting off on the "same wavelength". To this end, we have devised "New Puppy" and "New Kitten" packages which are full of pertinent information for the new pet owner including appropriate pet-care publications, brochures and hand-outs. We also include health care information on the latest offerings from the veterinary industry.
We can generate a follow-up schedule based on the new pet's birthdate giving actual dates for subsequent visits and discuss the most appropriate procedures, vaccines and surgery based on the lifestyle of the pet and the preferences of their owners.
This service also extends to older pets of new clients who have moved into the area. We have "New Neighbour" packages that contain information for adult and geriatric pets. This information covers nutrition, training, local facilities, municipal bylaws and other pertinent facts for pet owners moving into the Mississauga area.
The internet is a great resource of information but it is also a massive repository of "DISINFORMATION". As with any source of information be it a newspaper, magazine, TV program or radio broadcast, one must be aware of the credentials of the provider. The internet is largely unregulated and therefore contains personal opinions, prejudices and convictions that may not be universally accepted. This is what gives it character and a unique medium to express oneself. However, when dealing with health issues of your loved ones, please check the source of the information and make an informed decision.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THE INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THESE PAGES TO TREAT YOUR OWN PETS WITHOUT PROFESSIONAL ADVICE.
