This is the compilation of the century!!!  Three cds... 94 bands... 94 songs... awesome packaging... what more could you possibly want?  This originally started out as the fourth installment in the 'Back to Rockaway Beach' series of compilations.  Larry at AMP Records had decided he had too much good stuff for a single album and decided he was going to put out a double disc.  While compiling tracks he was contacted by the Troma movie company who were looking for a record label to help secure bands for a compilation cd they wanted to produce.  They didn't want anything to do with any major label type deals since they were a fiercely independent company themselves.  Troma had heard good things about AMP and when Larry mentioned about the proposed double cd Rockaway comp, they declared that they wanted something bigger.  Make it three cd's Troma said and their artitsts would do the artwork.  The rest as they say, is history!!
Something of this magnitude always has a tale or two attached to it.  The original cd plant refused to press the cd's because they had a working deal with Disney and considered the Troma artwork too pornographic.  The track by The Automatics was actually recorded in the early 1980's and features Johnny Thunders playing guitar.  He was in the studio next door and came over to jam and ended up recording with them.  The Automatics were signed to Island records and after wasting tons of record company money and not delivering an album, Island reposessed their equipment and gave it to a new upcoming and unheard of at the time group named U2.  Vrisnak Generacije recorded their track on the disc while their city was getting bombed during the war in Yugoslavia.  This compilation represents 22 different countries and is a testament to the strength and diversity of the underground rock and roll and punk scenes worldwide.  It's a throwback to days when punk rock encompassed all facets of the scene and there was an excitement and energy about the discovery of new bands and not just the latest cool trend.  There is an definite aura of excitement around this disc.  There's no pretentions here, just kick ass rock 'n roll.  If this doesn't get you hard, nothing will.
