3. #2 - Thur 19 Feb Royal Ottawa Hospital - Carling Ave
7.15 to 8.15. We dance alone. With join-ins. Realize that many of the patients/audience have had real problems. Concert in the Whitney gym. Entrance to parking lot off Merivale N of Carling. We'll get parking passes at the concert; I've asked for 6. 1B 2B 3B.
4. #3 - Wed 25 Feb - Ellwood HouseSeniors - 7.30 near Alta Vista Firehall
2270 Braeside, "through" from St Thomas the Apsotle church, close to Alta Vista and Randall - and the Fire Hall . With Highland. It's a bit squashed! White dresses & white jabots w/o tabards. 1B 2B 3B.
5. #4 - Sat 28 Feb - Clan MacLeod WinterSocial - 9 not 8 pm
Note new start time. They want some"show" dances and join-in dances after their pot-luck supper. Emmanuel Church Smyth Road - on north side to the east of the General Hospital, near Haig. Park on the west side, enter by side door and go upstairs. Suggest Blue w men tabards. selected from 1B 2B 3B.
6. #5 - Wed 4 March - Sons of Scotland - 41 Rosemount 9 - 9.45
The SoS have too many things to talkabout on Feb 4; we've been bumped by the ice storm. In the past we attended their St Andrew's night event which was different. 41 Rosemount is the Orange Hall opposite our old class school, near Ottawa west library; we danced there for the Gaelic Soc. The SoS havea "closed" meeting 8-9 pm, and then we are the entertainment afterwards. Possibly join-in dancing. Ladies blue men tabards whitesocks.
7. #6 - Thur 12 March - Glebe Centre 7.15- 8.15
Regular show. With highland dancers.Peasant/peasant.
8. #7 - Thur 24 March - NRC Wives Ass'n -St Thomas the Apostle Church 1.30 - 2 pm.
The ladies (about 80) have a monthly meeting after their tea/refreshments; usually a talk. On stage - it's big enough; the floor looks a bit like cracked concrete but it isn't!! They want an introduction for each dance; anyone to volunteer to do one?? Seems an important part of the whole thing. Easy parking.near Ellwood House - on Alta Vista, near Randall - and the Fire Hall.
9. #8 - Wed 1st April 7 pm - St.Vincent's Hospital - Cambridge St N.
In 4th floor auditorium. We get parking passes. Audience is 30 - 60 - many in wheelchairs. With Highland. NOTE EARLY START TIME. The hospital is to the NW ofBronson/Somerset.
10. Possibly March/April - School Social, Stittsville
Very tentative, we are the "theme" for an evening social in the gym, with half-time nibbles. Some show dances, many join-ins. Possible with alternate entertainment, too. The December timing has been postponed - the parents committee are busy with other things!
