To be eligible for upgrade
from Member to Senior member, you
should have at least 10 years professional
practice in a field which the IEEE recognizes and
you should also have at least 5 years of
significant performance in this area. You need
IEEE members (preferably Senior members) as
references for upgrades, which takes quite some
time and cannot be speeded up.

If you don't know any senior members (are there any within your company that know you?) you could attend some Ottawa Section functions to meet some. You can reach the Ottawa web page to checkout their calendar through the IEEE Canada web page www.ieee.ca
All the forms for SM are available on the IEEE web page at:

The Chair may be able to assist you in finding suitable referees. Many members have upgraded using the web process, without any specific support from the Section. Best of luck with your upgrade. Please have patience.
