• 9.30am  Arrive Middleville Community Hall - registration, snack, introduction, Museum Summary
• 10.10am Walk to Middleville Museum - individual tours
• 11.00am Leave Middleville for Lanark
• 11.15am Visit Lanark Museum
• 12 noon Lunch at Foy Hall Lanark, opposite the Roman Catholic Church - conclude with description of afternoon choices
• 1.15pm  Leave for Wheeler's Maple Museum, MacDonald's Corners or optionally Perth (free time until tea)
• 1.45pm Tour of Wheeler's Maple production facilities and Maple Museum
• 2.00pm  Arrival in Perth - option
  • Free time in Perth - visit the Matheson House Museum, Perth or shopping or self-guided walking tour
• 3.00pm  leave Wheeler's for Perth, with optional stop-over at Balderson Cheese store
• 3.45pm  All - Repark for tea (4 pm) at St. James Anglican Church
  • Enter from Drummond St, go through church and downstairs for tea; wheelchairs use the Beckwith St entrance
• 4.50 pm  Leave for formal visit to Matheson House Museum, Perth (5-6pm)
  • 5.45 pm Possible informal talk from John Matheson at Matheson House Museum
• 6.15pm  Tour finishes
• 6.30 for 7pm  Dinner at the Crown and Thistle - from a selected menu

  The tour has little driving on Hwy 7. Travel along Hwy 417 west to the Almonte turnoff. Take this, cty rd 49, go through Almonte (no turns) - becomes cty rd 16, past the Auld Kirk, and finally reach Middleville; Almonte - Middleville is 12 km; park between the Community Centre (on the left, before the cross roads) and the Museum (right at the cross roads). It is a 5-minute walk from the Museum parking lot back to the Community Hall. To get to Lanark, go straight across county road 16, after leaving the museum lot, on cty rd 8. Go through Herron Mills; note the various field fencing styles. Left on Ont 511 to Lanark. In Lanark, with the Fire Hall on the far diagonal left corner, just past the museum on the right, turn right on Clarence St and park. The United Church is up the hill. Walk to the Museum without re-parking.

  Optional tour: take signs to Perth; stop-over at Balderson (if desired); various stores.

  To get to Wheeler's Maple Sugar Bush, go down the hill in Lanark, but turn rt, onto Mill St, over bridge (cty rd 12). Past Playfairville; take signs to MacDonald's Corners. Pick up Wheeler's Maple signs - a left turn takes you off blacktop, onto Highland Line (no potholes!). After enjoying the Maple Museum, retrace your steps to Playfairville; right to Fallbrook (cty rd 7) and on to Balderson. Rt onto Ontario 511 to Perth.

  In Perth, use the town map provided for driving/parking; park near the Matheson House Museum (it has a large lot at rear, entry off side-street). On-street parking is limited to 2 hours, free. St. James Anglican Church is 1/2 mile SE of the town centre. The Crown and Thistle is downtown.

  Best way home from Perth is cty rd 16 to Franktown, then cty rd 10 to Richmond and Bell's Corners - it is direct and avoids Hwy 7 traffic. Good roads the whole tour, except the few miles around Wheeler's Maple Bush.
