About the Valuation Model
I have put together a detailed file that will walk you through a complex valuation of common equity. Please offer your suggestions, comments, and questions by completing my on-line feedback form.

If you are looking for spreadsheets for topics like corporate finance, valuations using FCF's or options, capital budgeting, or pretty much any finance related topic, click here.

I have received a lot of e-mail requesting a generic pro-forma cash flow model. In response to this, you may now click here to download a basic DCF model, applicable to almost any basic modeling task. This particular model was built to a)determine the purchase price for a potential acquisition b) to determine if pro-forma performance may allow for breach of expected debt covenants of the newly financed target post-acquisition c) to generally present the expected pro-forma income statement, balance sheet and cash flow. Additional instructions are available on the cover sheet of the excel file.

Steps to download:
Please follow the steps given below:

I have placed a zip file at the bottom of this page which contains a Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel file, and this will need to be downloaded to your hard drive.  It might take a few minutes as there is much information.  Please read (or at least brush over) the first Microsoft Word file to get a background on the company.  This will help you understand the vast amount of information that must go into valuations.

Aside from this introduction, the rest of the information is contained within the downloaded files. Please read the instructions below, and enjoy this very, very fun document.

Instructions:

  1. Download the following file to your DESKTOP. The file is approximately 180K, and will take about 3-4 minutes to download. *Remember to note the location of saved file
  2. SAVE THE FILE TO YOUR DESKTOP:
