Peeled Chrome Plating
Beginning in 1941 the mint began chrome plating the dies in an effort prolong die life.
In the early years (1941-1965) of plating dies many problems arouse, due to difficulties in adhering of plating.
Often called "Mortar set" in the sixties.
1944 One Cent -Extends around the Date and "CANADA"
1947 One Cent -Extends around the Date, "CANADA" and "K.G."
1947 One Cent Maple Leaf -Extends around "CANADA"
1962 One Cent -Extends in and around the lower right Maple Leaf
1943 Five Cents -Extends around the edge of the Reverse
1945 Five Cents -Extends around the Date, "CANADA" and top of the "V"
1947 Five Cents Maple Leaf -Extends around the 7 in the Date
1949 Five Cents -Extends around " 5 CENTS" and to the rim
1944 Ten Cents -Patches about the Obverse
1943 Fifty Cents -Extends around the edge of the Obverse
