Object Framing

veryone has some keepsake or collectible object that they can't bear to part with. Now, instead of storing it in a box somewhere, you can display it, tastefully framed as the special piece that it is.

e have framed everything from tea cups to golf clubs. Medals are especially popular. Include a photo, a pin or any other articles and you have a special memory to proudly display. Wedding invitations, a signed baseball, the grill or steering wheel of your first sport's car, baby announcements and toy, your child's first ballet slippers... The ideas are endless...
Hand Texturing

osters are becoming increasingly popular, as people begin to look, not for that valuable edition, but simply an image they love. Instead of the ususal frame, matte and glass combination, we have developed a technique specifically for posters. It is called 'Hand Texturing'. The poster is mounted to a board, and then we use a clear acrylic gel (just like an artist would use) and follow the brush strokes in the image. This results in a textured surface resembling an oil painting!! The image is sealed from the elements (even ultra violet rays) and ready to frame - without glass!! The result is a unique image that any one would think was an expensive piece of original art!! Come in for a closer look - we always have examples available.
Fillets and Frame Layering

ometimes a regular frame just won't do. Maybe you have a very special photograph or print and you want to spend a little extra. Fillets (pronounced 'fill-its') are almost like small frames that go on the inside of a matte or frame. They duplicate the finish of the frame and make a stunning finished piece. The picture to the left has a fillet inside the black matte to add that little something extra... The result is very elegant. Another option is 'frame layering'. This is where we use two or more frames stacked on top of each other. This allows you to bring in new colours or textures, and to create larger frames. It is an excellent idea for larger oil paintings, althought it can be used anywhere.

his is just a sampling of the things we can show you. Specialty frames, textured mattes, liners and fillets, shadowboxes, surface textures can all add to your art work. Spencer Gallery has been in this business for twenty five years, and we have the experience to make your framing experience a pleasant and an exciting one.
