I am an ex-policeman now working in my own independent investigation business. One of the services I provide is in the area of fire investigat- ions with my accelerant detection canine. I want to expand this part of my business by acquiring a drug detection dog. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who knows of a retired or fired police dog that would be suitable for doing nothing more than private drug work. Because I have other dogs I cannot have one that is dog aggressive and it would be preferable if the dog was sociable to most humans. I am not necessarily seeking a young dog but also would like one that is not severely dysplastic and still has a few years left. When the dog is not working he will be lounging around on 160 acres near Quesnel. Hope someone can give me some leads. Thanks. Robert Eyford at reyford@goldcity.net

I am interested in info on hereditary/acquired diseases of Malinois, especially fatal illnesses. Any info will be appreciated, but labwork supported diagnosis would be awesome. I own a 5 yr old von Lowenfels Malinois that is dual purpose trained, and thus, I have a good understanding of the bond between k9 and handler.
